Day 6 - Back in action.

Be careful what you wish for, as they say. After a week and two days of "intermission," we are back to work. Even though I kept reminding myself that those few days off were a great chance to catch up on our packing and rearranging of furniture, I was antsy looking out at the space that was our garage. Sure, it was great to have a few days of getting ready in the morning without the crew showing up at 7am. But I wanted to see more action - more building.

And, just like that, Bob the builder emailed, permit in hand, break is over. Here we go! With the 4th of July tomorrow, excavators are due to begin digging next week. In the meantime, Bob wanted to start framing the new mudroom (formerly our garage), and on Monday, will start demoing the roof. Yeah, that's what I said. The roof. Oh, it's coming off, all right - well, half of it anyway. Praying for a week of decent weather.

Big load of lumber delivered first thing this morning:

They started framing the new mudroom in the space that was our garage:

The kids are already trying to stake out their cubbies in the mudroom (not sure about Barbie):
