Day 13 - The shape of things to come

As Tim and I and the kids continued enjoying our mini-vacation in North Conway, NH, things really started to take shape back at home. Just the day before, Monday, we left behind a house with half of a roof - actually, half of a second floor. All that was left was the kids' bedroom, a bathroom and a lonely chimney sticking up.

But while we blissfully passed through the gates of Storyland for our second day, Bob and the guys were busy back at home, framing the front wall of the new second floor. My friend Megan (another spy!) snapped this shot Tuesday morning:

And what's that cement mixer doing there? Oh yeah, there's still that unfinished business with the foundation - we had the forms there for the footings, so today was the day to pour cement. My brother Paul snapped this shot around midday - I should also mention, one of the hottest days of the year. 95 with high humidity - not a fun day to work with cement!

Meanwhile, Nolan was engaged in a huge battle - Splash Battle, that is! His favorite Storyland ride, hands down.

Carys opted out of the water wars and instead went searching for a sweet treat ...

By the end of the day, the sweetest treat of all was seeing this photo that Megan sent:
